Fruit pulper and refiner for purees, sauces and juice bases

Pulper and refiner that separates pulp from skins, seeds and fibres for purees, sauces and juice bases.

How it works

Crushed or cooked fruit is fed into a cylindrical screen. Rotating paddles or brushes push the product against the screen at a controlled speed; pulp passes through the perforations while skins, seeds and fibres are retained and discharged separately. Screen hole size and rotor speed set the pulp fineness, and a second refining stage produces a smoother puree.

Suitable for

Tomato, mango, guava, apple, pear, berry, apricot — puree, sauce, concentrate and juice base production.

Not suitable for

Whole-fruits that must be crushed first without a crusher; products where seeds should be retained; clarifying juice to clear (that needs filtration or centrifugation).

Material & compliance

Screen, rotor and product-contact surfaces SUS304 (EN 1.4301); SUS316L (EN 1.4404) recommended for acidic fruits such as tomato, citrus and berry. Contact welds Ra <= 0.8 um.

CE declaration and DoC; EN 10204 3.1 for contact parts; food-contact conformity per FDA 21 CFR 175 or EU framework regulation as applicable; hygienic design with removable screens for cleaning.

Selection notes

Screen selection drives both yield and fineness — ask the supplier to run your product at several hole sizes and report the extraction rate. For acidic fruit, specify SUS316L contact parts, because 304 will pit over time. Check how long a screen change takes.

When you should not buy this machine: Do not buy a pulper expecting clear juice — it produces pulp, and clarification needs a different process. Also avoid a single-stage unit if you need a very smooth puree; a second refining pass is usually required.

FAQ

What screen size should I use?

It depends on the fruit and the target texture. Test several sizes and compare extraction rate against pulp fineness — the supplier should run this on your product.

Why specify 316L for tomato?

Tomato and citrus are acidic and can pit SUS304 over time. SUS316L (EN 1.4404) resists this and is the usual specification for acidic fruit contact parts.

Can it produce clear juice?

No. A pulper separates pulp from skins and seeds; clear juice requires filtration, enzymatic treatment or centrifugation after pulping.
